Dr. Maxine Bahns, PsyD, LMFT, LPCC

Clinical Director

Maxine is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Doctor of Psychology with a deep commitment to supporting adults navigating trauma, PTSD, self-esteem challenges, and significant life transitions. Certified in Attachment-Focused EMDR, she understands how deeply personal and complex the healing process can be and recognizes the importance of creating a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, compassion, and emotional safety. Drawing on her diverse clinical experience in nonprofit settings, residential treatment programs, and private practice, as well as a prior 20-year career in the entertainment industry, Maxine brings a uniquely empathetic, grounded, and nuanced perspective to client care. She provides a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they explore their experiences and work toward meaningful, lasting change.

Maxine utilizes a client-centered, strength-based, and relational approach that is thoughtfully tailored to each individual’s needs, integrating depth psychology, psychodynamic therapy, active imagination, and trauma-informed care. Her work focuses on identifying and understanding the underlying emotional experiences, relational dynamics, and maladaptive patterns that contribute to addiction, complex trauma, mood disorders, and interpersonal conflict. Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, she helps clients develop deeper self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience, and cultivate healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
